News on Jinder Mahal's return to Smackdown
Submitted by Aaron Rift on 04/19/2017 at 10:08 AM

As seen on last night's Smackdown Live, new roster member Jinder Mahal won a six-pack challenge to earn a WWE Title shot at next month's Backlash PPV in Chicago.

Mahal's match with Mojo Rawley last week was his first match on Smackdown since losing to El Torito on the May 30th 2014 episode. The last time Mahal won a match on Smackdown before this week was when Mahal and Heath Slater defeated Santino Marella and Zack Ryder on the October 9th 2012 episode.

The belief is that Mahal and The Bollywood Boyz will be a faction moving forward. The group being pushed should be able to help with WWE's expansion into the Indian market.
