NoDQ.com > Features > The true value of Great American Bash revealed
Posted by Bobby Spade on 07/19/2008 at 02:49 PM

WWE wanted you to spend $40 ($50 in HD) to see this show on PPV. Let's take a look at how much fans were willing to pay for each match:

John Cena vs. JBL Parking Lot Brawl: $0
Batista vs. CM Punk: $5
Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho: $10
HHH vs. Edge: $5
Tommy Dreamer vs. Mark Henry: $0
Natalya vs. Michelle McCool: $0

Grand Total: $20

The good news: The total wasn't worse than last year's Great American Bash.

The bad news: The total wasn't better than last year's Great American Bash. As usual, there is no interest in the women's match, the ECW match, and Cena/JBL. HBK/Jericho is easily the match that people are most willing to spend money on to see. WWE added two more matches to the PPV, but since they didn't announce a complete card on the "go-home" edition of RAW, they were not included.

Final word: If you want to spend $40 on a $20 show, order WWE Great American Bash on PPV this Sunday! Or read the live coverage at NoDQ.com! ;-)
