  NoDQ.com > Columns > The Miz to RAW.....Really?
Posted by Ryan Latino on 04/17/2017 at 01:10 PM

With the Superstar shake up this past week and alot of changes for RAW and Smackdown there is one change I don't agree with in particular as to me it makes no sense. That change is the Miz and Maryse to RAW. I can't see how this will benefit the Miz one bit? He has been a shining light on Smackdown especially on Talking Smack as the promos he has been delivering have been some of the best promo segments in a long time.
The feud with John Cena leading up to Wrestlemania was built on their mic skills and it brought a sense of reality in what they were saying. It was built on real emotions and cut through barriers with the personal digs at each other. It built the feud to be more than most of us expected and even though the match was a big let down it had drawn a huge amount of expectations and made all four Superstars relevant leading into Wrestlemania.
The Miz isn't the greatest wrestler but has worked hard especially in the way he came into the business and all the backstage politics. What has kept him relevant after all these years is his talking in promos. His long feud with Daniel Bryan I believe has only scratched the surface and could of been developed so much more. Especially now with Cena and Nicki taking a break it could of lead to more tension with Bryan with Miz antagonising and goading him in every way possible.
I still believe Miz and Maryse should of gone over at Wrestlemania as it could of lead to big set ups in the future with guys like Nakamura and Styles. Miz 2-0 against the fifteen time champion of the world at Wrestlemania just think of the promos he could have delivered! It would also set up the eventual return of Cena and Nicki down the line with something to come back to.
If Miz and Maryse had gone over this could of been used as ammunition against Daniel Bryan and set up for more fireworks. Bring in the fact Miz is using a number of Bryan's moves you have natural heat. Every fan wants a Bryan comeback but we know it won't happen and with Miz you have someone who can push all the right buttons as we the audience watch Bryan struggling with being an authorative figure and leaving the wrestling behind. Miz would be the biggest heel on Smackdown and he wouldn't have to do much to get real heat except do what he does best. Talk and talk and talk and talk.

Now we have him on RAW and I genuinely don't know where he fits in. Main event status against Reigns or Rollins I doubt it! The feud with Ambrose is in recent memory so who else can he feud with? Nope I have no idea! Can he have the same emotional rivalry with Kurt Angle as RAW general manager? There is no history between them and I can't see Miz emotionally getting under the skin of Angle to goad him into getting back in the ring. I don't think it will work unlike with Daniel Bryan who has publicly made it clear he wants to wrestle again.
For this I genuinely believe the Miz is on the wrong show and with no Talking Smack segment he will struggle to find his place. Unless they do something major with Miz TV and he is allowed to bring the same realism to it to get reactions from fans I feel he will be mid card at best and loose all momentum he had on Smackdown which is a real shame as I've enjoyed the last few awesome months watching Miz.
