NoDQ.com > Columns > Corey Graves is right!!!

With the Wrestlemania card filling up and matches announced opinions are divided about every match on the card. From who is going over to should this match even be on the card?
One match in particular has divided opinion on many levels which is Aj Styles versus Shane O Mac. In a few of my columns for Nodq.com I have written about Styles and the impact he has made in the WWE. Currently he is probably the best wrestler on the planet and last year proved that with his high profile feuds with Cena,Reigns and Jericho. For me his match versus Jericho at Wrestlemania last year stole the show alongside the Women's triple threat match. His in ring work can't be touched and he takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions no matter who he is in the ring with. As Corey Graves quoted on Bring it to the Table his performances are like an artist and will give you a 'bell to bell cinematic experience '. I totally agree with this as Shane technically is nowhere near the level of Styles. Shane is known for his risk taking and bumps but can anyone honestly say they remember anything else about Hell in the Cell last year apart from the jump of the top of the cell? I'm struggling.... Or the shattered glass at King of the Ring versus Kurt Angle?
Shane for me is a great character but can he top in terms of risk what he did last year?
He won't be able to wrestle Styles so it looks like it will be some sort of street fight with limited wrestling. Aj is that good and can pull off a street fight but as a fan I want that cinematic experience full of technical wrestling and in ring action.
Wrestlemania is that one show every year where the casual fan will tune in to see it and it gets a bigger audience so for me Aj should be able to show his skills to that audience and why he is the best in the world today.

Through social media and debating through alot of wrestling forums I also understand when people debate that this match could be good. Storyline wise it is drawing alot of attention even overshadowing the WWE championship match. You also have Shane competing which means it will be a big draw due to segment and promo time and also people expecting Shane to do something crazy which will add to the excitement and expectation. For me it would of made sense to put Shane in with a Braun Strawman or Brock Lesnar. A much bigger guy who can throw him around and carry him which would add to the drama of the match as you see Shane riding in pain taking a beating trying to make the babyface comeback. Styles is smaller than Shane so to add to the drama this match needs to be personal and hit a raw nerve. The angle needs to be real so I'm interested to see how it develops in the next couple of weeks. The best feuds are those that are personal and fans believe in. Look at Jericho versus HBK or Bret versus HBK. This is where this match needs to go to succeed. I'm just not so sure. I want a story filled with drama and has me on the edge of my seat instead we might get a train wreck with one huge bang!!
