This weekend is WWE Fastlane. Btw, apparently superstars must tack "WWE" every time they speak of an event. Have you noticed that? "When we face at WWE Fastlane". Or, "at WWE Payback"... What's up with that? They didn't used to have to do that. Anyway, onto predictions and such.

Rich Swann and Akira Tozawa vs Brian Kendrick and Noam Dar in the kickoff match should be fast paced. A good match notwithstanding, I'm sure most fans will either not yet arrived or gone to the bathroom or concession stands. That's unfortunate, as there will definitely be a show put on here. I say Kendrick pins Swann clean.

Nia Jax will bulldoze Sasha Banks. This will likely start the pay-per-view. Gallows and Anderson will retain the tag titles. This will set up a gauntlet tag title match or perhaps a rematch at WrestleMania. I would love to see Jack Gallagher win the Cruiserweight title from Neville. It's not that I don't enjoy Neville's in-ring work, I just find Gallagher extremely entertaining and think he needs his shot.

Samoa Joe v Sami Zayn is the male version of Jax/Banks. Joe will decimate Zayn. This won't even be close. Charlotte Flair will defeat Bayley and reclaim the Raw women's championship. Roman Reigns/Braun Stroman will likely end in a double countout. Vince loves Reigns. Vince loves Stroman. He won't have either man lose, especially building to WrestleMania. I do see WrestleMania implications in this match. Perhaps after the double disqualification/countout, Stroman continues the beatdown until the lights go out and.....gong! Here comes the Undertaker! But who does he go after? Since there's rumor of a Reigns/Taker WM match, perhaps he choke slams them both but Reigns takes the most offense.

The final match on the card is Goldberg v Owens for the Universal Championship. The outcome of this match is almost painfully obvious. Goldberg will win the title so Goldberg v Lesnar can be the main event for the title instead of just the main event for nothing(like their Survivor Series "match"). I'm thinking Chris Jericho makes his return and screws Owens out of the title, paying him back for the Raw double-cross as well as that live event sneak attack. This will set up a WrestleMania grudge match between Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho. The tagline "Best friends, better enemies comes to mind. It might not be for the U.S. title, though. I bet Owens costs Jericho that title before the Show of Shows.

On the Smackdown side, it looks like we're getting Randy Orton vs Bray Wyatt for the WWE Championship after all. Last week, AJ Styles defeated Luke Harper to win the #1 contender slot after Randy Orton "vacated" his opportunity. Turns out that was all part of a ploy. Orton burned down the Wyatt compound in what was probably the coolest thing I've seen on WWE tv, non-wrestling related, in awhile.

Even before all the Orton stuff, you knew it wasn't going to be Styles/Wyatt because they've been setting up for Styles/Shane for WrestleMania. I'm thinking the tipping point will be reached this week when Styles loses his shot. Maybe Styles attacks Shane in the coming weeks in the boardroom, in the parking lot, backstage until Shane finally says enough is enough and accepts a match with AJ at WrestleMania.

There you have it: a little Raw, a little Smackdown, no Impact Wrestling because that show bores me. Even with the signing of Alberto Del Patron(Del Rio), I have to wonder ADR's reasoning in this. Is he that desperate to get back in the states? By the way, I have a prediction for a few other TNA departed that I'll save for a future column. Until next week....
