"I honestly think that you are so good (different) at how you approach columns. I know some people take compliments lightly and such, but honestly, you should be a very proud man. Boatloads of people including me, read your columns ALL THE TIME. Me personally, I wake up every morning, and before I go to school, I read your column (I'm 16). Also, your consistency with your columns is amazing, just from reading them so much, I almost feel like I know your thought process (not that I do). So with all of that out of the way, thank you."

Currently, four columns are set to be posted on 411mania featuring yours truly. FOUR! Yes, this is going to be a jam packed weekend. Please head over to 411 as they get posted.
Note: This column was posted over a year ago. Felt like a good time to re-post something. Enjoy this #TBT edition!
Recently, I moved into a new condo. It had been a long time coming and was very close to happening six months ago. Like, VERY close. Even before that, the wheels had been in motion since late last year. Heck, it was one of the factors that caused me to walk away from 411mania.com for a few months earlier this year and set a personal goal of writing less columns in 2015 - a goal I accomplished by the way.
Truthfully, the condo is a tad bit out of my price range. I had set a specific price point and after vowing NOT to go over that mark, I did. Not by a lot, just a little. The place was too nice with too many added perks to pass up. Knowing that though, certain sacrifices had to be made to 'make up' for the extra expenses. Soda is limited (sorry, I drink too much!) each month. Water is the beverage of choice now. Going out and partying will be limited (usually was anyways), although Halloween night was fun.
Long story short, if you sidestepped certain areas with your money, it balanced out the rest.
Now, at this point in the column, I am sure you are all asking:
"What is he talking about? How does this relate to wresting?????"
Well, good question.
Here is your answer folks: I finally decided to cut the cord.
No more cable television for me.
It was a bold move and something I never could have imagined. However, yet another monthly bill from Time Warner Cable pushing $150 was not going to happen. Not in my new condo, that's for sure.
ESPN? Eh, I kinda grew out of their babbling last year. Watching First Take and the other guys yap for hours on end only goes so far. After awhile, it turns into background noise. Will miss all the poker coverage though...
History Channel? I stopped watching Pawn Stars some time ago, and all of their reruns are shown non-stop anyways. I don't watch anything else on the channel.
MTV? Don't watch it.
VH1? Don't watch it.
Spike TV? All I watched was Bar Rescue, and my interest in that decreased big time earlier this year...so whatever.
I'm probably forgetting some networks, but you get the idea. Classic movies? That is what Netflix is for! I don't watch FX. Or TNT. Or TBS. I don't watch Adult Swim. I don't watch The Walking Dead on AMC. I don't watch anything on HBO, Showtime, etc. I will miss some big sporting events obviously on cable, but that is okay. All the major, MAJOR events are still on NBC, FOX, ABC, or CBS - which I do get.
As for wrestling programming?
I can tune into Ring of Honor (when I care to), as a local station here is from Sinclair. Airs on Saturday afternoons, later that night, and early Sunday morning I believe.
I have not seen a single TNA Impact Wrestling episode in months. Never got Destination America anyways. I read the recaps each week but hardly even care to watch the highlights on their official Youtube channel. Probably seen more ROH this year than TNA if you can believe it.
Smackdown? I stopped watching that weekly a few months ago. After defending the Blue Brand for YEARS, I could no longer do it. The move to Thursdays was a mistake from the beginning (which I predicted), and there just wasn't enough to grab me anymore. I was a huge defender of Smackdown, until now. Can't do it anymore.
RAW? Ugh. You know, if the show was two hours and on FIRE these days, maaaaaaybe I would keep my cable deal. Maybe. The fact is the show is three hours and NOT on fire these days. actually the complete opposite if anything.
I still have the WWE Network through a Roku hooked up to my TV. Still can watch the live specials, still can watch the WWE pay-per-views, and of course - everything NXT! No worries there.
Now, now, now. Don't get me wrong ladies and gentlemen. This column is not ALL doom and gloom.
I signed up for Hulu Plus for a mere $8 per month. With that comes a 90 minute edition of RAW (all the filler and commercials taken out) and Smackdown too. They are available the next day, which like the WWE Network, I can access through Roku hooked up to my TV. For example, this past week, I watched RAW on Tuesday afternoon and finished it in less than two hours. Thus, I can still follow all things WWE - just using different methods.
Only $9.99 per month for the WWE Network and $8 per month for Hulu Plus with Raw and Smackdown available the next day.
Sure beats a monthly cable bill pushing $150, huh?
