  NoDQ.com > Columns > The X-Factor: WrestleMania 33 - The World titles
Posted by Victor Mariscal on 02/08/2017 at 03:34 PM

The first major stop has been passed and the second one is about to be passed in my town. Sadly I can’t go because I can’t afford the floor seats I want, but what can you do?

These last few years, it’s gone from being the most exciting time to be a fan to the most frustrating. Plus the complaining doesn’t help.

Every year the same question gets tossed around: “Will Stone Cold Steve Austin return to the ring at WrestleMania?” The answer is always a no but next year the question will be asked again. People want Shawn Michaels back but he’s made up his mind.

Fans are dying to see Kurt Angle do one more match.

Yet, those same people hoping that those legends past will do one more match also bitch about part-timers and past stars coming back and taking someone else’s spot. You know I’m referring to Goldberg possibly winning the Universal title and defending it against Brock Lesnar in Orlando.

In the smark mind, guys like Kevin Owens and Cesaro should be headlining WrestleMania cards. You’re not wrong in terms of skill and workrate but appeal is another story. We’re talking about the biggest show of the year and they need to get people watching. The casual fans will ALWAYS outnumber the smarks.

I don’t know if Lesnar vs. Goldberg in Orlando is a bright idea but it’s getting people’s attention. Of course Lesnar will win and give the rub – and the red belt – to someone else. I can just hear the moaning and groaning now.

As for the other world title situation, I’m feeling more trepidation than I would like. Are they serious with putting John Cena and The Miz in a mixed tag match with their ladies? Any other event it would be fine but they’re doing everyone grave disservice here. First, Nikki should be fighting for the SD Women’s title which she would lose since she’s going on hiatus. Second, Maryse wasn’t a good worker in the ring. Third, both Cena and Miz deserve FAR BETTER than that. Fourth, it’s a total dick move for Cena to lose the WWE title just two weeks after “tying” Ric Flair.

Cena has killed himself for WWE these last 15 years. If this is a way of punishing him for doing other things then Vince is being a douche. What’s new huh?

I have nothing against Bray Wyatt gaining the WWE title but why in Phoenix? They could do a triple threat with him, Cena and Orton or maybe a 4-way. AJ Styles deserves a big money match.

Right now, the betting odds have Bray as the favorite with Cena right behind him. We’ll see soon enough.

Don’t mess with the X.
