"I honestly think that you are so good (different) at how you approach columns. I know some people take compliments lightly and such, but honestly, you should be a very proud man. Boatloads of people including me, read your columns ALL THE TIME. Me personally, I wake up every morning, and before I go to school, I read your column (I'm 16). Also, your consistency with your columns is amazing, just from reading them so much, I almost feel like I know your thought process (not that I do). So with all of that out of the way, thank you."

My Mini Announcement

In case you missed it over on 411mania.com last week, I made it official: I am going to WWE WrestleMania 33 in Orlando! Still not sure how long or for what events but the Sunday event is a for sure go. Details and all that junk will be sorted out in the weeks to come.

Also, my WWE Fastlane 2017 tickets have arrived! Beautiful floor seats. Not entirely ringside or next to the ring but pretty darn close. Already rumored is a Bill Goldberg match and obviously some kind of Royal Rumble fallout. Unreal how I may be seeing DA MAN wrestle live in person on March 5th, 2017.

WWE UK Championship Tournament Review

Speaking of 411mania, I wrote about the WWE UK Championship tournament a few days ago. Lots of good stuff on the WWE Network special. Only minor nitpicks included. For my full thoughts, head on over to 411mania!

Twitter Questions

I asked for some quick feedback before writing the column. Here is what I got in short notice:

The talent pool will never dry up. WWE has just signed Chris Hero from the independent scene. Before that was Roderick Strong from Ring of Honor. Before that was Bobby Roode from TNA Impact Wrestling. Or AJ Styles. Or Eric Young. Or Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. Or Asuka. Or Shinsuke Nakamura. Or Austin Aries. Or TM-61. Or...you get the point. Up next seems to be Ricochet, Kyle O'Reily, Adam Cole, Will Ospreay, The Young Bucks, Kota Ibushi, and others. WWE will just keep on stocking the cupboards full. There will ALWAYS be guys and gals willing to sign on the dotted line.

How many of them succeed? That is to be determined

Key guys to watch for? I'd say this is going to be a Glorious year. Pun very intended. Samoa Joe is heading to the main roster at the Royal Rumble, and I doubt Nakamura isn't too far behind. Maybe the night after WM on RAW? Roode can lead the NXT banner for the next 12 months or so before he gets his turn to be bumped up. Same with Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa. Even as a tag team, I'd let them do their thing in NXT on a (near) main event level. No rush with them. The Revival are probably going to Smackdown LIVE soon, so the tag team division is wide open.

On the women's side, it is honestly all about Ember Moon right now. Asuka may not be in NXT much longer either. That leaves Moon as champ come April, and a whole lot of 'others' still finding their way. Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, Liv Morgan, Nikki Cross, etc. All talented in their own right. However, each one is behind Moon in the pecking order.

It's not really BOLD or anything, but those are my stars to watch out for in NXT as we enter a new year.

On that note, doesn't Tye Dillinger have to be #10 in the Royal Rumble match? Seriously...

Yeah, it was something I praised so much about the UK Title tourney. Every match from Tyler Bate was won via his finisher. No kickouts. No BS. Just one move, and that was it. My buddy is probably sick and tired of me harping on it every month, but I say the same thing every pay-per-view. When a wrestler his their big move, that should be it. Sorry, but 50 super kicks in a match to no effect becomes tiresome real quickly. Not my thing at all.

Sure, epic WrestleMania style matches are legendary and cool...but you can only do that type of thing once in a blue moon. Every match or even every month? No thanks. Isn't worth the damage down to (supposed) "finishers" in wrestling.

NFL Playoffs

How is your team doing?

Watch Glitch on Netflix. I know Stranger Things got everybody in a fuss in 2016, but I actually liked this show better. No joke, there was just something about it. Only six episodes and flies by if you want to binge it all in 4-5 hours. Very, very intriguing story line and one that will give you goosebumps with a dramatic final scene. Can't wait for season two on Netflix.

My Sister's Keeper

Such a good book. I highly recommend everybody pick up a copy and read it. There are cheap used versions on eBay for as low as two dollars. Yeah, two freakin' bucks! I started the Jodi Picoult book and did not put it down for over four hours last week. I was hooked from the start. Please, if you are a reader and love a great story with many twists and turns in between, My Sister's Keeper is for you.

Side note - do NOT watch the movie! It changed a ton of details and even screwed with the original ending. Avoid the garbage film version and focus on only the book.

Kurt Angle

Truthfully, I purposely stopped writing about the current product. Not only was it kinda BLAH for me, but I wanted to highlight my year end awards for 2016. Give us all a breather before the Rumble hype kicks in.

What got me jacked up again though was the announcement on Monday that Kurt Angle is entering the WWE Hall of Fame. Amazing news and long overdue. Two years ago, he set out to better himself, stay clean, exit TNA Impact Wrestling, and PROVE to WWE that he could be trusted again. In other words...brought back again. It may not be a full blown wrestling role, but Angle is back in the fold, and that is a great way to start 2017. I will be in Orlando for Mania, so it is even more awesome. Well deserved.

Mickie James

Ditto for Mickie James. She returned for one night only in November for NXT Takeover: Toronto. However, we all had a feeling if things went well she would come back on a regular basis. Well, that time has arrived. As I wrote about in this very column BEFORE the rumor hit online, she was beginning in January 2017 for Smackdown LIVE. Happy to see it. Mickie was a big fan of Alexa Bliss when they spent time together in NXT awhile back - very fitting for them to be paired up. Weird she resembles Trish Stratus...uh oh!!!

Royal Rumble Prediction

I will close the column on a teaser. Next week is the annual Royal Rumble. We know Raw has Fastlane in March, and we know Smackdown has a WWE Title Elimination Chamber bout in February. Plus, with the brand split - we KNOW things are wide open in terms of a Rumble winner. WWE can pretty much due whatever they want because if all else fails, there is a whole different brand. Experiment with one side and keep the other intact. That is why this thing is so loaded...yet unpredictable.

Pretty cool that a Rumble features The Miz, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, Braun Strowman, Chris Jericho, THE UNDERTAKER, Bill Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, and a host of others. The best part?

My prediction is none of those guys win...
