"I honestly think that you are so good (different) at how you approach columns. I know some people take compliments lightly and such, but honestly, you should be a very proud man. Boatloads of people including me, read your columns ALL THE TIME. Me personally, I wake up every morning, and before I go to school, I read your column (I'm 16). Also, your consistency with your columns is amazing, just from reading them so much, I almost feel like I know your thought process (not that I do). So with all of that out of the way, thank you."

Worst PPV/Major Show Of 2016

5. NXT Takeover: The End
4. Roadblock (March)
3. Payback
2. Roadblock (December)

1. Anything TNA Impact Wrestling related - No explanation needed.

Best Female Wrestler Of 2016

5. Sasha Banks
4. Becky Lynch
3. Asuka
2. Bayley

1. Charlotte - A pretty stacked category where any of the five could win. If Nikki Bella was around for most of the year, she would have also made for a strong contender. Same with Alexa Bliss, who came out late in the year for a push. Not enough though, her year could be 2017. In the end, everything revolved around Charlotte and with good reason. Make no mistake, her father may be Ric Flair, but she is 100% deserving of all the praise and accolades. From NXT to WWE, she is dominating the women's division and absolutely delivering in the ring. Main eventing RAW is now common place for her, as is getting a prime slot on pay-per-view. Including a great performance at WrestleMania 32 (where she kept the title in a thrilling triple threat match as I predicted) As Womens Champion once again, Charlotte leads Raw into WrestleMania season. No better choice.

Best Promotion Of 2016

5. GoldFW
4. Lucha Underground
3. Ring of Honor
2. WWE

1. NXT - Save me the junk about NXT being a part of WWE. I get it, third brand and all. Doesn't matter. NXT is everything that is right about the wrestling business. Seriously, the only negative I have with the company in 2016 is taking the giant leap to tour regularly while I felt more baby steps would have been wiser. Still, the on air product, live specials, and amazing roster is more than capable of being its own promotion. While RAW and Smackdown are still hit or miss for WWE, there is a reason why people think of NXT as its own entity. It's THAT much different...and better. As I wrote about last week, 2017 is going to be a very interesting for the future of NXT. All we can do is sit back and wonder if the bubble has burst or is it still growing?

Best Performer Of 2016

5. Shinsuke Nakamura
4. Seth Rollins
3. AJ Styles
2. John Cena

1. Roman Reigns - Alright, lots of great talent had to left off this list. Remember, top five and all. Some will miss the cut; that's just the way it works sometimes. Sorry. As for my choices, let me break it down. Nakamura got my attention in Dallas, and I have been a fan since. Not knowing his prior work, it was eye opening. Seth Rollins may be struggling as a face character, but in the ring, he is just as entertaining as ever. Rest easy folks, AJ Styles will get his due in a later column. Relax, wait a little bit longer for other results. In the few matches John Cena has had, he STILL beings the electricity and attention no other star can bring. Booing or cheering, when he has a match, you know it. Winning or losing, there is some kind of story that goes along with it. Unfortunately, there was a gap in his full-time schedule, so he only got the second spot. Number one went to Roman Reign because like Cena, he has gained a reputation (fair or unfair) of being a lightning rod. No matter what happens in his promo, entrance, or match, people talk. There is always SOMETHING discussed about Reigns after a show. Oh, and in the middle of all that talk, he then goes out there and delivers the good each and every time. Raw, Smackdown or yes, winning the title in the main event of WrestleMania 32 in front of 100,000 fans. Don't blame him. Don't blame me. You should be blaming yourself...believe that.

Best Match Of 2016

5. 2016 Royal Rumble Match
4. Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles (Payback)
3. Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn (Battleground)
2. John Cena vs. AJ Styles (Summerslam)

1. Sami Zayn vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (NXT Takeover: Dallas) - When Sami Zayn made his farewell entrance at NXT Takeover: Dallas, it was match of the year. When Shinsuke Nakamura made his debut entrance soon after, it was match of the year. When fans started chanting and getting jacked up before the bell even rang, it was match of the year. When Nakamura winked at the camera and Zayn stood there smirking, it was match of the year. You know what happened when the bell finally rang? Zayn and Nakamura officially had the 2016 match of the year. I have probably re-watched their match 15 times since April, and it gets better each time. More awesome moments. More goosebumps. More recognition of just how special the moment was. Not only for Nakamura arriving in NXT but also for everything Zayn had done. Both men had their own unique story, and everybody reacted accordingly. The crowd, the atmosphere, the commentators, the match, the finish, the aftermath, etc. I knew right away it was getting my match of the year vote, and over eight months later, that feeling has not gone away.
