"I honestly think that you are so good (different) at how you approach columns. I know some people take compliments lightly and such, but honestly, you should be a very proud man. Boatloads of people including me, read your columns ALL THE TIME. Me personally, I wake up every morning, and before I go to school, I read your column (I'm 16). Also, your consistency with your columns is amazing, just from reading them so much, I almost feel like I know your thought process (not that I do). So with all of that out of the way, thank you."

411mania.com Year End Awards

Stay tuned to 411mania in the upcoming days/weeks. There are a ton of year end awards to be handed out, and yes, I gave my votes. Very interesting 2016 indeed.

Happy New Year!

Truthfully, I am not a big new year kinda guy. I have probably been out partying more in the past month than ALL New Year's Eves added up my entire life. It is just not my thing. Same with all these big resolutions people make. My thought is if you want to change something in your life or be a better person, then JUST DO IT! You don't need to wait until January 1st to prove a point or get started. Do it now, do it in June. Do it whenever you want. The flip of a calendar should not dictate YOUR personal schedule.

Thus, we do enter a new year, and I thought it would be fun to take a look back at my 2016 "wishes" for the professional wrestling scene.

NOTE: I wrote this column on December 30, 2015 for WrestlingNewsWorld.com - let's take a look, shall we?

First up...

I wish for WrestleMania 32 to draw over 100,000 fan and break their live attendance record. - Whether the numbers were inflated or not, WWE announced the attendance over 100,000 and claimed a personal record. I loved the setting, the look, the feel, and the entire presentation. Still planning on checking off an item on my bucket list and going to WrestleMania 33 this April...

I wish John Cena makes the most of 2016. - I wrote about how he is pretty much finished as a full-time star in WWE and whatever opportunities come his way, he MUST take them! Well, John Cena did that and then some. Major roles came his way, on television and in movies. Good for him. He deserves it.

I wish Raw moves back to two hours. - I will continue to whine about this. I don't care what kind of extra money WWE gets from USA Network. It has not been worth it. Same goes for 2017 - move RAW back to two hours.

I wish for a women's main event on pay-per-view. - Yep, nailed this one! I was actually in the minority of fans that thought a women's match could have headlined a PPV back in 2015! Last year, I said it was due. Well, 2016 kicked down that door and made it happen. Main events on RAW and pay-per-view. Inside the HAIC too! It is no longer a big deal or something even worth mentioning because it doesn't need to be. All the worries, doubts, and fears turned out to be pointless as I said from the beginning. The revolution did its' job for WWE and the super talented women wrestlers on the roster right now. No longer divas - they are all superstars.

I wish Daniel Bryan and WWE make the best decision possible - Yeah, that was retirement, which is what I suspected was coming. It was the absolute best decision. He is still with WWE, helping out on Smackdown LIVE.

I wish the following names would get a bigger spotlight in 2016: Alex Riley, Cesaro, Damien Sandow, Kalisto, Ryback, and Corey Graves - Ouch. Let me break down these one by one.

1. Alex Riley has a little bit of a comeback in 2015 in NXT. Sadly, that was the end of the road for him after yet another injury. Too bad. He pretty much went radio silent after his WWE release but is now back in the spotlight taking interviews.

2. Cesaro rebounded in a big way after the WWE Draft in July. He was rumored to be heading to Smackdown over RAW, but a last minute change prevented that. While upset and confused at first, he has made the most of his pairing with Sheamus. Just too bad he is still in a tag team when he should have been a solid single's wrestler by now, on his own.

3. Damien Sandow stalled after The Miz feud, kinda predictable really. I mean, his claim to fame and 'getting over' was impersonating somebody else. Had to assume that'd spell bad news for himself. Still, he had a personality and fan support...but then did nothing. He later went to TNA Impact Wrestling after his WWE firing and has been a huge disappointment, not quite making the waves many expected.

4. Kalisto may have had his best year in 2016. Lots of room for improvement though. I believe he has a high ceiling. Being on Smackdown LIVE really helps out.

5. Ryback also left the company, not an outright firing. He simply had an expiring contract and was done. Contract dispute and other issues with the company. There were a few rumblings in late 2015 that he was headed out the door, so I was hoping 2016 would be a big year for him - convincing him to stay put. Never say never on a return, WWE has brought back just about everybody eventually. Ryback is an asset, even if he is running his mouth a bit too much these days. I'd love to have him back in the fold.

6. Corey Graves was the hidden gem of WWE last year. Not so hidden anymore in 2016 (and 2017) I suppose. He is all over the WWE Network, NXT, was a fun part of the Cruiserweight Classic, conducts interviews, hosts special events, made the jump to RAW, and is really great at everything he does.

I wish continued success for the WWE Network. - This goes without saying. Every single wrestling fan should want the WWE Network to be a success. We don't want a price jump. We don't want $50 pay-per-views again. We don't want talent getting less money. We shouldn't want for any of those things to happen. If the WWE Network continues to do well, that only benefits us. Seriously, $9.99 for allllllllll that content. Seriously people. We all are winners there.

SUMMARY: As you can see, I was fairly accurate with my wishes for 2016. What will 2017 bring? Stay tuned.
