"I honestly think that you are so good (different) at how you approach columns. I know some people take compliments lightly and such, but honestly, you should be a very proud man. Boatloads of people including me, read your columns ALL THE TIME. Me personally, I wake up every morning, and before I go to school, I read your column (I'm 16). Also, your consistency with your columns is amazing, just from reading them so much, I almost feel like I know your thought process (not that I do). So with all of that out of the way, thank you."

411mania.com

I am not going to post every 411mania column from December. What I will do is advise everybody to head on over there and check out my page. It is loaded with content and great reading material to get you through the holiday season. My 2016 Year End Awards are planned for next week; that should be fun.

Random RAW Thoughts

- Kudos to Stephanie McMahon for being ready to counter the predictable CM Punk chants from Chicago. Point for her.

- I didn't really have an issue with the controversial Dusty Rhodes backstage segment. It seems Goldust (and others) gave it the okay. Plus, the assumption is Dusty himself would have loved the bit. That being said, I understand where Cody Rhodes is coming from and until any of us go through a tragic death and see it used on worldwide television, we don't know the feeling.

- More Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho nonsense. Feels like we are dragging this to WrestleMania 33, which makes sense. You MUST deliver on this match after all the teases. The only question is if KO is still Universal Champion by then...

- Bayley is back to being a sympathetic face, who is facing all the odds. I like this. She definitely belongs on Raw, but part of her charm is taking on the bigger/better heels and overcoming the obstacles. Her winning all the time is not quite the same. Rey Mysterio was the same; he works best as the under dog - not some sort of unstoppable champion.

- Neville is a bright spot in the ever declining cruiserweight division. I have already stopped thinking about 205 LIVE, and it is barely a month into its' run. Kinda sad. Props again to Neville. His heel turn has done wonders.

- Lots of focus on Braun Strowman this week. Lots. WWE is really building him up to be a legitimate threat to win the Royal Rumble match next month. I mean we all know he won't, but the hype is real. I love it. Good stuff versus Seth Rollins and cool showdown with Sami Zayn. A Last Man Standing match next week on RAW appears to be the end of their feud. Good luck Sami!

- Bill Goldberg returns to RAW on Monday. First edition of 2017 starts out with a bang. Get the ball rolling on the Rumble/Brock Lesnar story line.

- Main Event saw Roman Reigns beat Kevin Owens to retain the United States Championship. Okay, whatever. Seen this enough already. Why is it happening at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view? For the Universal Championship? With Chris Jericho hanging above the ring in a shark cage? Reigns has proven many times he can defeat Owens with or without interference. Seems unnecessary and really distracting just to sell a few toys.

Random Smackdown LIVE Thoughts

- John Cena is back! Usual passionate promo about not going anywhere and taking on all comers. Fans were chanting for The Undertaker, make note of that. The Deadman has not been seen since saying WM is NOT his legacy. Interesting wording. Cena wants a WWE Championship match and will get it at the Rumble. Figured as such. Unfinished business with AJ Styles.

- American Alpha are the NEWWWWWWWW Smackdown Tag Team Champions! About time. Seriously. These two should have been sky rocketed to the belts upon debuting. Injury or not, Chad Gable and Jason Jordan deserved that moment months ago. Long story short, WWE eventually got it right. Randy Orton and The Wyatt Family can do their own thing. The tag division belongs to American Alpha on Smackdown.

- James Ellsworth and Carmella are an 'item' apparently. Can only imagine...

- Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss was pretty solid. Actually though we might see a second title change of the evening. Not to be, as a mystery woman cost Becky the match. We saw a glimpse of her face. However, I don't think that matters - could just be a stand in until the real reveal. Alexa is still champ, damaged arm notwithstanding. Lots of options for the company here pertaining to the mystery woman. Certainly isn't Sasha Banks or Nia Jax as teased. Who could it be?!?!

- The backstage segments with The Miz, Maryse, Dean Ambrose, and Renee Young were entertaining. Nothing worth noting.

- AJ Styles defeated Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler to retain the WWE Championship. Decent triple threat match that showed all three have chemistry in case the company wants to go back to them wrestling each other in the future. Styles wins and has a staredown with Cena to close Smackdown LIVE in 2016. Fitting in a lot of ways.

Summary

This is where Smackdown is demolishing RAW right now. Smackdown was two hours, filled with a few fun backstage segments, John Cena returning to open the show, and three worthwhile title matches in the squared circle. Just two hours. RAW was bogged down by filler, nonsense, repeat bouts, and the usual silliness that gets tiresome after awhile. In THREE hours! We don't know the TV ratings and viewership numbers yet, but if there was ever a week where Smackdown LIVE would top RAW, this would be it. We'll see.
