NoDQ.com > Columns > The X-Factor: My take on Roadblock: EOTL

Well, Roadblock: EOTL won’t win any ‘Match of the Year’ awards, but it might win a few for swerves.

First, I gotta say that was an awesome move by Cesaro. Even though WWE tends to play fast and loose with their rules, this time the ‘legal man’ rule in tag matches worked for him. Cesaro and Sheamus needed the win but I’m a little bummed that The New Day’s record-breaking run with the belts is done. Was that record only broken to wipe out Demolition from their history? Ax and Smash are involved in that concussion related class-action suit against WWE. It’s not a leap.

They may have been planning Neville’s “character change” for some time. He did go all this time not shaving his beard off. Of the three guys he attacked, one was a face and another a heel. Anti-hero maybe?

I would love to see Eva Marie show up on Raw and take some aggression out on Foley. I’m sure none of you would appreciate someone using you the way Foley used her to get Sami Zayn fired up.

For all the whining people do about the Sasha Banks – Charlotte storyline, it took Women’s wrestling to heights it had never reached before. Those two closed out Raw twice, the second time in a Falls Count Anywhere match. In one night they headlined a pay-per-view AND had the 1st-ever women’s Hell in a Cell. They could’ve had one milestone without the other but they went all in there. Finally, the 1st ever female Iron Man match on PPV.

Yes I’m bummed that Sasha lost, but try to think about it. Charlotte has never lost a singles bout on PPV. Whoever beats her will automatically get the rub. The question is who will get the heat transfer between now and San Antonio. The best choice is Bayley, who needs it most right now.

Hey, don’t tell me that Sasha vs. Bayley III in Orlando does not appeal to you.

What I want to know is why the some smarks are still hell-bent on labeling Reigns as a bad wrestler. He isn’t anywhere near as bad as the haters are imagining him to be. Hell, AJ Styles has said he’s better than people think he is.

People call bullshit on DQ finishes, but if this was in 1999 it wouldn’t be a big issue. They felt it was just too soon to end the rivalry. If you’re gonna cry foul on Jericho and Owens getting their asses powerbombed through tables, remember that they’re the heels. They’re supposed to pay for screwing people over.

Just put Ambrose back on Raw already.

I wanted this column to be a look at 2016. Need a little more time for the ingredients to cook. My awards for this year are coming too. You’ve probably guessed I won’t award “Worst wrestler of the year” to Reigns.

Don’t mess with the X.
