Since it's the Christmas season, I'm in a giving mood. This week, I give props to WWE. I give props to WWE for making their championships mean something again. The Miz and Dolph Ziggler's feud has been masterpiece after masterpiece. Miz' never-ending I-C title reign was really beneficial in building up the championship to what it once was. Hot potato with a title is fun to watch sometimes, sure. There is much more meaning, however, when a guy holds a title for a year or so before losing.

August 22, a night after becoming the inaugural Universal Champion, Fin Balor had to relinquish the belt because of injury. Kevin Owens won a fatal fourway to determine the new Universal Champion. He's been the champion four months now and shows no signs of losing. He has Roman Reigns at Roadblock but I don't see him losing there. Think that's the definition of title stability? Get a load of this.

The record for longest reigning WWE tag team champions had long since been held by Demolition at 478 days. At the close of Raw Monday, New Day, even though the announcers said they'd broken the record, stood at 476. By now, of course, the Day are well past that mark. As of now, the WWE tag, I-C and Universal Championships are pretty solid. I don't see New Day losing the tag belts to the Swiss-Irish Connection(that's what I call them anyway. WWE could surprise me but I doubt it. I see them finally losing the belts maybe at WrestleMania. Wouldn't that make WrestleMania that much more special?

Which long-reigning champion loses their championship first? This will actually get interesting. I'm wondering if the guys to end these long streaks aren't even yet on the main roster. Chew on that and I'll be back next week.
