NoDQ.com > Columns > Jay's Ways - Who Attacked Nikki Bella?

"I honestly think that you are so good (different) at how you approach columns. I know some people take compliments lightly and such, but honestly, you should be a very proud man. Boatloads of people including me, read your columns ALL THE TIME. Me personally, I wake up every morning, and before I go to school, I read your column (I'm 16). Also, your consistency with your columns is amazing, just from reading them so much, I almost feel like I know your thought process (not that I do). So with all of that out of the way, thank you."

My 411mania.com Project

As most are now aware, I have begun posting my "12 Days of Wrestle-mas" columns over at 411mania. Starting Monday night, I am posting a column every single night until the holiday. Most are already done, so it is not that major. There are some that need work still, but I can finish that in the days ahead. Either way, please check out 411mania for all the content and details inside for other fun things to enjoy!

Donate, donate, donate!

I have made my donation. You should too. Even if it is simply $1 or just a few bucks, every little bit helps. If that reasoning is not enough, Elijah Burke (The Pope) will give you a shout out on social media for donating.

Here is the charity's information and all you need to know: http://love-alive.org/

To promote my 411mania columns, here is just a taste of what to expect. Enjoy.

NOTE: This was originally posted on 411mania last night.

Alright, we already know the set up. Nikki Bella was going to make her Survivor Series entrance but never made it to the ramp. When cameras looked for her, she was laid out backstage and not able to compete. Natalya took her place because she was the team coach. Everybody surrounding the ring waiting for Nikki all expressed shocked…and denial.

Well, somebody attacked her! Unless it was like Kevin Nash texting himself. The only question is WHO did it?

The Obvious Suspect: Carmella

She has been feuding with Nikki Bella the past few months and attacked her numerous times. Most of the time, it was when Nikki least suspected it. Carmella, as the new bad girl in WWE, does not do things face to face. No, no, no – nothing but sneak attacks from this one. Therefore, would it really surprise anymore if the payoff was that Carmella did it AGAIN?

As obvious as it may seem, I think their story is done. Nikki won at WWE TLC, and it appears the company is moving past that issue. Carmella has admitted to beating down Nikki in the past, yet she is denying this particular attack. Doesn’t quite add up. If she had been the culprit at Survivor Series, she would just own up to it. Carmella is found NOT guilty…but she does seem to know something...

The Innocent Suspects

Okay folks, it wasn’t Brie Bella. Sorry. I think Lita can be crossed off the list. Trish Stratus is not coming back. Ronda Rousey is unlikely. Any male obviously. Stephanie McMahon is innocent as well. Basically, all the oddball and weird options can be tossed out the window. We may be in store for a shocking swerve, but we’ll get to that later on.

The Unusual Suspects: Team RAW

It was just a quick line, but JBL noted at WWE TLC that he thought somebody from Raw attacked Nikki Bella at Survivor Series. Remember, the big tag team match was a brand battle. Raw vs. Smackdown! Surely, a heel (or face) from The Red Brand would want to help their chances at winning by eliminating the captain of The Blue Brand before the bout even started. JBL may have been onto something.

The problem is nobody makes sense. Wasn’t Nia Jax. Wasn’t Sasha Banks. Wasn’t then Women’s Champion Charlotte (or Dana Brooke). Certainly could not be Bayley. Alicia Fox? Nah. See the issue here? As awesome as it would be to assume there was some kind of RAW conspiracy, the evidence isn’t there to back it up with facts. Nobody from Raw attacked Nikki at Survivor Series.

The One Person Named: Natalya

So far, there have been a lot of hints and teases. However, no names have been listed…until TLC. It was Carmella who revealed that she did NOT attack Nikki Bella at Survivor Series. Nope. It was her friend from Total Divas – Natalya! Despite the stunned reaction from commentators and the live crowd in Dallas, Texas that night, it was not a very bold claim at all.

From the beginning, she was my prediction (and still is). Remember Nattie was being the annoying team coach for Team Blue and benefited the most from the incident. She was the one who was nearby and basically volunteered herself to take Nikki’s spot in the match. On a major pay-per-view like Survivor Series. A night known for hit and runs in WWE. Nattie sure did seem to be in the right place at the right time. For her credit, she did deny the accusation. However, it was more of her dodging the question than actually outright shutting it down. This one was my original gut feeling; time will tell if it is all a red herring or the endgame.

The Swerve: Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch recently stated in an interview that she would like to turn her attitude around try out a new persona. Something like a heel turn perhaps? Going bad on The Blue Brand? Interesting quote from the then Women’s Champion. We saw her show some frustration at WWE TLC, so it is not out of the question if you ask me, especially if Nikki is intended to remain the top female face of the show. Would make sense to spice up the division a bit. Nikki going after Becky for a few months may be fun.

Personally, I would NOT make the move but whatever – it is an option I suppose.

The Wildcard: Mickie James

Yes, Mickie James.

Who was in Toronto for NXT Takeover the night before Survivor Series?

Who was surely upset about losing their big return match less than 24 hours earlier?

Who has been known to be a little psycho at times?

Who would be in the locker room being friendly and not suspected of such an attack?

Who has attacked others before and been a staple of Smackdown (and Raw) before?

That’s right. Mickie James is now my prime suspect outside of Natalya being the obvious choice. Mickie checks off all the clues in the kayfabe world and non-kayfabe, it fits as well. New reports suggest she is heading back to WWE to start with Smackdown in January 2017. Fine by me. Just confirms my thoughts from weeks earlier – a high profile Nikki Bella vs. Mickie James match at WrestleMania 33?
