"Because when I arrive. I, I'll bring the fire. Make you come alive. I can take you higher. What this is, forgot? I must now remind you. Let It Rock. Let It Rock. Let It Rock!"

"Let It Rock" by Kevin Rudolph & Lil' Wayne

I've been noticing a trend recently in pro wrestling. There has been a lot of music in pro wrestling. I know, I know, that seems like a pretty obvious thing to notice now isn't it? Music has been an integral part of pro wrestling for years. WWE & TNA have created their own music for their talent for years. Some of the music can pretty good which in the end you associate that particular music with the wrestler. How many of you will think of Triple H when I mention "Motorhead" since they did "The Game" & "The King Of Kings". Indy wrestlers used music already released by famous artists like "Disturbed" or "Prong" for their entry music. Which when see that wrestler perform and you like them, in the end you will like the music. One of the reasons why I like "Tom Sawyer" by "Rush" was that Kerry Von Erich used that as his entry music in the World Class Days. But here is something that some of you might know and some that might not know is that pro wrestlers themselves have slowly entered the music world.

Now pro wrestlers singing their own music aren’t new. Vince McMahon tried to do this in the 80s to show that WWE's pro wrestlers aren't more than just guys wrestling each other in tights. In the end that was something you don't want to hear. WWE tried to do it again with the CD "WWE Originals" which was a disaster. Instead pro wrestlers decided to take to the music scene themselves. Sometimes the music created from them is actually pretty good, while the rest of them...just don't bother.

I'll go through which pro wrestlers have either released their own music or decide to have a music career. And you can judge by yourself whether their music is good, or downright horrible.

1. Chris Jericho
Band: "Fozzy Osbourne" A.K.A. "Fozzy"
Type: Hard Rock
Story: During his WCW days and his initial debut in WWE. Jericho has a band called "Fozzy Osbourne" which is a rock cover band. In the beginning it was Jericho's hobby away from pro wrestling. When WWE found out that Jericho had a band the band name was shortened to "Fozzy" and released three CDs.
Opinion : Jericho may be a great wrestler but one thing for sure. He is a horrible singer. If Jericho wants to be a musician he shouldn't give up his day job.
Where To Find Music: "Fozzy" CDs can be downloaded at iTunes. Fozzy has a website located here and a MySpace page located here. "Fozzy will be releasing a new CD called "Chasing The Grail" in Jan 2010. Go to YouTube right now to hear the latest track off the new CD called "Martyr No More".

2. Jeff Hardy & Shannon Moore
Band: "Peroxywhy?gen"
Type: Rock/Acoustic Band
Story: Jeff Hardy & Shannon Moore started a band back when Moore was in WCW. Through a series of circumstances the band slowly gathered and they have recorded some songs. The band hasn't released any CDs yet.
Opinion : Man Jeff Hardy cannot sing. Compared to the previous entry in Jericho at least he had some sort of lyrical tone in his voice. Jeff Hardy sounds like he's talking in the music not actually singing. The review may be somewhat harsh to Jeff Hardy while the instrumentals for the music aren’t that bad.
Where To Find Music: The band has a MySpace Music Page with all of their songs uploaded to it.

3. The Motor City Machine Guns & Petey Williams
Band: "The High Crusade"
Type: Punk Rock Band
Story: Just recently formed in April of this year. Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin a.k.a. The Motor City Machine Guns team up with "Maple Leaf Muscle" Petey Williams to form the band.
Opinion : Just formed and they sound great. The one little weakness they do have is they need to make sure we can hear the lyrics because there are times the guitars overplay the lyrics. I would love to hear more music from them.
Where To Find Music: Like I said they are new. They do have a MySpace Music Page up right now.

4. Vampiro
Band: "Droch Fhoula"
Type: Industrial Goth Metal
Story: Known in WCW, Wrestling Society X, and other wrestling promotions in Mexico & Canada. Vampiro decided to form a band based on his wrestling character's dark influences.
Opinion : The band seems, well to me at least, influenced by Marilyn Manson in one way or another. This one is a coin-flipper because in one instance the instrumentals are awesome while Vampiro on the other hand sounds like he's in "Pendulum" more than his own band.
Where To Find Music: "Droch Fhoula" has its own MySpace Music Page and I think you can buy their music on iTunes. Also the band has a video on the "Wrestling Society X: The First & Last Season" DVD in the "Extras" section as well.

5. Matt Bentley
Band: "Lost In Chaos"
Type: Rock N' Roll
Story: Ex-TNA Wrestler Matt Bentley joins up with other band members of the indy band "BlindFold" to form the new band "Lost In Chaos"
Opinion : Well since Bentley is mostly on the guitar it will be hard to judge him so we judge him based it on the band as a whole. The band sounds somewhat like "Alter Bridge" or "Creed" in my opinion. Nothing didn't pop for them to me musically at all.
Where To Find Music: The band is constantly performing in the Orlando area. You can buy their CD either on their MySpace Music Page or on iTunes.

6. Lita
Band: "The Luchagors"
Type: Punk Rock
Story: When Amy Dumas, better known to the WWE fans as "Lita", decided to retire from WWE & Pro Wrestling. Lita decided to focus her attention to some of her favorite things. Lita happens to be a big fan of punk music. So Lita decided to create her own punk rock band.
Opinion : I reviewed their first and only CD so far in a "Product Review" well over a year ago. I'll say it again this time since I've now had the CD in my iPod for awhile now. This is a great CD and the music is pretty much kick ass. I highly recommend getting it.
Where To Find Music: "The Luchagors" has its own MySpace Music Page. You can buy their CD on CD Baby.com, or on iTunes, or in person when Lita makes an autograph appearance.

7. Christy Hemme
Band: "HEMME"
Type: Pop Rock
Story: There is a recent trend right now to go along with pro wrestlers trying to get in the music business but incredibly attractive looking women also want to be in the music business as well. TNA Knockout Christy Hemme is a great example of this. "My Pal & Yours" wanted to express herself artistically so she teamed up with some musicians she knows to start a band.
Opinion : I'll plea the 5th Amendment on this one (For non-U.S. readers that means I'm going to shut up now before I will incriminate myself.). Its going to look majorly biased since I have put Christy Hemme's musical performance on a huge pedestal. Also I had only heard "HEMME" version 1.0, not the latest version of "HEMME" version 2.0. So in this instance you are going to have to judge this one for yourselves.
Where To Find Music: "HEMME" so far has a troubled history. The first version of the band (or "HEMME" version 1.0) had a MySpace Page, T-Shirts, everything. The band's MySpace page was hacked in 2008 with the end result of the page being deleted. A couple months later in the 2008 year, Version 1.0 of the band broke up. But that didn't stop Christy Hemme from creating music. Just earlier this year Christy Hemme created "HEMME" Version 2.0. Christy Hemme also released an EP that's available for download at iTunes & has a track on the "3rd Degree Burns: The Music Of TNA Wrestling" CD.

8. John Cena
Band: "John Cena with Da Trademarc"
Type: Rap Music
Story: Before John Cena's "Kryptonian Heritage" was revealed. Cena was back doing his "wanna-be rapper" gimmick which was slowly gaining popularity with him. Cena admitted in interviews that he loves to rap. WWE wanted to take advantage of Cena's love for rapping so they let Cena record songs. When WWE saw positive results with Cena's rap music they decided to release a Rap CD. Cena then teamed up with his cousin "Da Trademarc" and Rap Producer "Bumpy Knuckles" to create the CD.
Opinion : When I first initially bought Cena's CD I solely bought it for comedic reasons because I expected it to be bad. And oh boy howdy was it bad! Only two songs on that CD were decent. The rest of the CD. Bleh! Also its funny now how Cena wants WWE to be more family friendly when he has a music track on his CD where he (in his own words) "wants to have 3 d***s, so he can bang 3 chicks."
Where To Find Music: Cena gave up on the rap career to be (in his own words) "to be more serious in pro wrestling". Translation: To reveal he's actually an alien from the planet Krypton with abilities far those of mortal men! But you can still find his music. His only CD" You Can't See Me" can be found online via Amazon but not on iTunes or in any local retailer if you can find it. Cena also has supplied tracks on the "WWE Originals" & "Themeaddict: WWE The Music Volume 6" CDs. When Cena gave up being a rapper, which left Da Trademarc without a job. Fortunately TNA hired him to do some rapping for some of their music. In fact Da Trademarc is the one rapping in Kurt Angle's TNA music theme.

The Pro Wrestlers that want to be musicians I have listed are some that want to stay in the business and had made some sort of impact with their music. Some of it made them some money, some made it their passion in life that they want to pursue because they love it, or some that they think they had talent which made the end makes them look like a pro wrestling version of William Hung. "She Bang, She Bang!" indeed! There have been some that have made some music like R-Truth or Rikishi but so far they only made music in WWE not in other ventures so as of right now it is not known what sort of musical impact they will make in the future. With new technology these days it is pretty simple to make music right in your own home. The problem is that you need money to release your music out to the public.

Well that and a little something called "talent" to make you credible as well.

(Special Credit go out to Spudz and the "Wrestling Fans Agaist Posers On Social Networks" for verifying the bands MySpace Music Pages. Spudz has a MySpace page, a Facebook Page, and a Twitter account.)
