NoDQ.com > Columns > RD: Random Thoughts V: Quantum Of Solace
Posted by Raging Demons on 11/17/2008 at 09:23 AM

Guess what time it is? It's "Random Thoughts" time! The column where I throw anything and everything together to form a giant watermelon, do my Gallagher impersonation, take a big giant hammer, and destroy that watermelon by whacking at it with my big giant hammer shooting out all the watermelon pieces at to you. And of course the reason that I do that is that all of them are not enough for a column.

AND! Here's the fun part. If you send me an e-mail or a Message on the MySpace page that somewhat wrestling related or you want to ask me a question. Not only will I post it here but I will promote or PLUG your webpage or anything else that you have.

Okay and let's see what we got in the ole In boxes.

*tumbleweeds flying by*

OOKKAAYY! I got nothing. That's okay. That means we jump right into the ole column.

And we start off with...

1. I wish I can really do one long column on the following. But you just can't. Listed under the "What The Hell?" department that I REALLY wish I can write about. TNA does it's annual stunt to get fans. Last year it was hiring "Pac-Man" Jones as a wrestler. NOW! YEESH! The Beautiful People have officially sent an invite to Former Republican Vice-Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin to come and be a "honorary" member of The Beautiful People at the "Final Resolution" Pay-Per-View. And if Sarah Palin does come to the Pay-Per-View, TNA & The Beautiful People will donate $50,000 in care of any charity that she wants or to her local Wasilla, Alaska Youth Hockey Team. I would LOVE to go into detail how this is such a stupid thing. Sarah Palin is not going to the Pay-Per-View. Right now she's too pre-occupied with getting too much camera time with the national news shows. Adding to that the little controversy she has with Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, a convicted felon mind you, that could be elected to a U.S. Senate position. I highly DOUBT that Sarah Palin will go to a pro wrestling show that averages 1.0 on the Neilsen ratings to take a $50,000 check. This whole thing screams "Look At Me!" and you all know how I feel about that!
However. While I was surfing the 'net the most popular theories for this whole thing popped up to one of the two outcomes. A: Adult Film Star Lisa Ann, best known for playing Sarah Palin in that Adult Film from Hustler "Who's Nailin' Palin?", will probably be hired by TNA to play Sarah Palin again to resolve this angle. And it's possible since Vinnie Russo has used Adult Stars in the past with previous angles (Minka in WCW & Rachel Rocketts in WWE) it seems like a possibility. Or B: Traci Brooks could be all dressed up and play Sarah Palin.
Either way. Expect the stupidity to be enormous!

2. And SPEAKING OF TNA! Following up on the "TNA Knockout" going home department. It looks like it's official. A couple of weeks ago at a WWE House Show in Florida. WWE officially announced Gail Kim hired by WWE. Good news for Gail since she needed the money. Bad news for another WWE Asian woman, Lena Yada. Since Lena Yada is an "Un-Diva" which means she was hired because of her looks and she had the skills of a pet rock (she just laid there and did nothing). Yada got fired from WWE. Reason. With Gail Kim, a wrestling "Diva" now, why need the dead weight that is Yada. Maybe Lena Yada should had taken the Michelle McCool school of career stability?

3. AND SPEAKING OF TNA YET AGAIN (for three straight! What the hell?!?)! You noticed how Christian Cage was taken out this week on Impact? Well there's a reason. Like Gail Kim. Christian Cage is considering a return to WWE. For the same reasons Kim went to WWE, MONEY!!! And the way Cage was "taken out" depends on how TNA can handle his contract. If TNA can re-sign Cage he'll have one HELL of a push. Not well that's how he'll be gone from TNA. If Cage does return to WWE I have members of my Group saying the perfect way to bring Cage back. When Edge "comes back from Hell" he'll bring some "family" along. That being Christian!

4. Let's make it four straight now. Scott Hall appeared at the "Turning Point" TNA Pay-Per-View with The Insane Clown Posse (owners of the "Juggalo Championship Wrestling and appeared on WWE & WCW Programs) in the audience. Here's the kicker to all of this. Hall & ICP (Insane Clown Posse for short) weren't PLANNED to be a part of the Pay-Per-View. In fact Hall was his usual self, drunk as hell! Nobody did anything because people thought that Hall was going to be a part of the Pay-Per-View. But here's the interesting thing to this incident. Kevin Nash, Hall's longtime friend, asked TNA officials & security to kick Hall out of the building! I want to know more about the details to this story. But alas, I'm betting we'll never going to know.

5. Well all you internet fans I hope your happy. Because Mike Adamle is no longer going to be on WWE TV. And out there people rejoice. Not so fast there. Adamle is still employed by WWE...for now! Question is how long will Adamle be a part of WWE? Either way he's a definite contender for Wrestlecrap.com's "Gooker Of The Year" which represents the "Worst Gimmick or Angle Of The Year".

6. "Everybody's Favorite Douchebag" Randy Orton is back showing how much he has earned that title...again! Orton did an interview with website "GameDaily.com". Apparently Orton didn't love "Burn In My Light" by Mercy Drive. I think the words were "hated it"! In fact he actually wanted "This Fire Burns" by Killswitch Engage which is currently CM Punk's theme. Of course Orton LOVES his current theme once he had his hands on the WWE Title and wanted a change and got it. All I have to say to Orton is this. Give Mercy Drive a chance. They aren't that bad. But to whine that you wanted something that Punk has now. Oh just deal with it!

7. Apparently we now have an explanation why Stephanie McMahon, head of WWE Creative A.K.A. "The BrainTrust" doesn't have a clue when it comes to writing. On an Internet radio show called "Unholy Matrimony" one of the radio show hosts, Rory Karpf, recalled a story back to his college days. It seems that Rory attended a college party with a certain woman who "smoked weed the entire night". That woman...Stephanie McMahon! And Shelley Martinez says that marijuana doesn't do anything damaging!

8. In the "Pro Wrestlers turned MMA stars" department. Three updates on Pro wrestlers going to MMA. A: Looks like unless TNA can convince Kurt Angle to stay by Spring 2009, Angle will become a MMA star. B: Bobby Lashley will be competing against Joshua Franklin at Mixed Fighting Alliance's "There Will Be Blood" event in Miami, Florida. Looks like it will be the first MMA fight for both of them. C: You probably know about this by now. Brock Lesnar defeated Randy Couture to become the UFC Heavyweight Champion. The whole Lesnar/Couture thing seemed fishy when I heard this was going to happen. With Brock in his 3rd UFC match getting a Heavyweight Title show, Couture having public problems with UFC owner Dana White, and that whole Elite XC debacle with Kimbo Silce going down faster than Jenna Jameson on Ron Jeremy, doesn't that seem a WEE bit suspicious to any of you? Or is it just me? Maybe it's me.

9. Fox Searchlight has released the movie poster for the upcoming wrestling movie "The Wrestler" starring Mickey Rourke. For a wrestling movie this one is getting Oscar Buzz. Take THAT Cena for "The Marine!" Here's the movie poster. What do you think?

10. And finally! If any of you are worried about me because of the fires. Relax. I'm okay. The fires are located at least 20-25 miles from me. Although it does seem kinda weird that looking through my window I can see the fires like WAY out in the distance in one little glow. I tried to take a picture of the fire from where I was at but that didn't turn out pretty well. Only way those fires can really get to me is that if some major carnage to happen. I hope.

And there you go. One complete column of goodness.

Dawn Marie and myself would like to say thanks to those that donated and those that will continue to donate to The Carrie Deussing Foundation and to Wrestler's Rescue. Wrestler's Rescue needs your help again.

"Doctor Death" Steve Williams needs a very expensive piece of medical equipment to make his life easier. It's about the price of a new car. Wrestler's Rescue is asking not only for cash donation but they plan to hold a fundraiser full of donated wrestling memorabilia. So if you want to send any cash donations or any wrestling memorabilia that you don't want anymore you can contact Wrestler's Rescue on their Myspace Page or email Wrestler's Rescue yourself

Until next time. (right click it).
