Just as the title says, this is going to be about Backlash, along with ECW and RAW.

Today’s Topic: Backlash & More

I have to say, I liked Backlash. The Matt Hardy and MVP match was a very good one, with plenty of good technical wrestling. Kane & Chavo was much much better than expected, they both did a great job, and Chavo proved that he can go with the big boys just as much as he can the cruisers, I was definitely impressed. Big Show & Khali was okay for what it was, I wasn’t expecting too much from this match, and we got a little bit more than what I expected. Shawn Michaels & Batista, wasn’t all that bad either, though it just felt a little awkward, I don’t sense any chemistry between the two. Though, I loved the ending, and I hope it does hint at a Shawn heel turn, Shawn is his best as a heel, I love it when he’s cocky and just becomes a total asshole, it’s great. Plus, he has reason too, as well, after how Batista’s been treating him, and the women’s match was just what you’d expect from the diva’s, that’s about all that can be said about it. Definitely didn’t live up to the great match that Mickie and Beth had on RAW a few weeks ago, now that match is what I would love to see from the diva’s division, and I hope they let it happen a little more, now.

Undertaker & Edge was a fantastic match, Edge came out looking great, and lost none of his credibility for losing. That’s one thing I like about Undertaker, he’s willing to make younger stars look just as good as him, and that’s exactly what he has done with Edge. Even with Edge losing, he came out looking stronger than ever, and capable of mind games of his own, and that’s what I love to see, they could definitely use Undertaker to push some younger stars more like this in the future.

Now, the main event. This match was fantastic. I wasn’t expecting much from it, but as WWE usually does, it proved me wrong completely. Even though I hate seeing the title on Haitch, this match was definitely well done, and put together great, and I saw so much chemistry with each of the guys than what I thought I would be seeing. Kudos to the people who put this match together, it’s a great job, and really shows what the great booking of a match can do.

As for RAW, I felt it was pretty lackluster most of the night, in fact I don’t even remember much that happened, aside from Trevor Murdoch singing, and the ending, as well as Kennedy and Regal’s confrontation. Last night I felt something from Kennedy that I haven’t seen in a long time, and that’s the missing personality that he hasn’t had ever since he lost to MITB to Edge, ages ago. This is the old Kennedy, and the one that I like. I’m also glad to see Regal getting some recognition, and actually being treated like a credible wrestler, because he certainly is. Trevor singing was pretty funny, in my opinion. I hate country, but I have to admit…Murdoch would be a great country star if he ever tried, he has a good voice, and everything, I’m wondering what’s going to come out of all of this, though.

As for the ending to RAW, most people hated it, I’m not one of those people, I thought it was fantastic, and a good way to keep the HHH/Orton feud going on into Judgment Day, and I loved how Regal was acting, he wants to be treated with respect since he’s the GM and KOTR, and that’s understandable. I’m usually not a fan of worked shoots, but that was awesome, and really very unexpected, which makes it all the more better.

And, ECW. I don’t have too much to say about it, it was pretty boring this week, unlike the usual gems of matches it pulls out every week. It’s only been a couple of days and I can’t remember anything that happened, until the end. I’m still quite confused on what happened there between Adamle and Tazz, whether it was planned or not, it’s all very confusing, and the talk about it on WWE.com doesn’t help matters, are they just trying to cover it up, and put a story behind it, or was it planned and going to lead to something? I know most people aren’t satisfied with Adamle’s commentating, but really I think the Adamle hate is over done. He’s not Joey Styles, but he’s not as bad as every one is making him out to be, he just needs time to learn and he’ll slowly get better. At least he isn’t Don West or Mike Tenay. Hell, I’d even say he’s better than Coach, because he at least tries to have a personality, which you have to give him credit for, he’s actually tried at least. So I suppose we’ll see what happens next Tuesday, and I hope the guy doesn’t let much get to him anymore, he needs to just go with the flow and do his best, and not worry about what other’s think. I’m certainly interested in seeing where this is going.

Anyways until next time.
