Wrestlemania was awesome. I was wrong, way wrong. I thought Wrestlemania was predictable, and I was wrong. I’m glad I was wrong, I am glad they pulled a lot of hats out of their sleeves, I am glad that things didn’t go down the way I thought they would. So, let me get into the details of everything…

Topic: Wrestlemania

Wrestlemania definitely exceeded expectations, none of the matches were bad and ranged from okay to great. And despite not having too many “Big” matches the show definitely made up for it with the entertainment value. Alright…let me get into my breakdown here.

ECW Battle Royal:
It was such a huge surprise to see Kane win this, otherwise though it was just a standard battle royal.

Finlay & JBL:
This match wasn’t meant to be anything pretty…and that it wasn’t. It wasn’t as brutal as I’d like it to have been though, I was hoping to see Finlay just destroy JBL, but JBL ended up coming out on top, and then from this last episode of RAW, the feud acted as if it was done…That’s a bit messed up honestly, and no way to end that feud. So this match disappointed me quite a bit.

Money in the Bank:
Once again, the Money in the Bank match was amazing, as it always is. They took some crazy bumps. I love the LADDER OF WOE bump, and they did an awesome job, and it was definitely a surprise to see CM Punk win this match, and also we saw Matt Hardy return by attacking MVP, that was a very awesome moment. Definitely a good match here with a lot of good spots.

Batista and Umaga:
This match was a bit better than expected, disappointed to see Batista win, but I figured it would happen. They managed to put on a good match, though. Both of them managed to come out looking tougher, of course this wasn’t the most technical bout, but that’s okay.

Kane and Chavo:
Match of the year right here folks. But no seriously, was this even a match? Either way, it’s great to see Kane with a title, he definitely deserves it, and I hope he holds it for a long time.

Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair:
This match was an emotional rollercoaster. I know Ric is old and needed to finally retire, but part of me during this match wanted him to win. Whenever he had on those figure fours I was out of my seat, wanting Shawn to tap despite the fact that deep inside I knew it wasn’t going to happen. Words just don’t describe this match, it was a very good match for one thing, but there is soooo much more to it than that. Words just don’t describe it.

Bunnymania:
This match was okay, more than what I thought it’d be though. Santino’s involvement was awesome, and was surprised to see Beth come out the winner. Snoop Dogg didn’t add much special, though.

WWE Championship:
This match wasn’t bad, either. It was definitely a surprise when Orton won though, I have to say I’m glad, I wasn’t interested in seeing Cena or HHH in the title scene again, this match wasn’t bad at all though, not the best in the world but not bad.

Floyd Mayweather and Big Show:
This match wasn’t all that bad considering. Mayweather had minimal wrestling experience, and was in the ring for the first time, and he didn’t look too bad out there. He played right to all of his advantages to hide all of his weaknesses, and it didn’t look to bad for him. I loved the part where him and his posse tried running away and Big Show ran back and brought him back. And the ending did well in making Big Show look like a monster still, it took quite a lot of chair shots and then a brass knuckles hit before he even went down. So all in all, this match was a lot better than what I though it’d be.

Edge and Undertaker:
This match was VERY VERY good. If I had to rate it I’d give it 4 and ½ stars. But, I despise rating matches that way. Edge came out looking like one of the smartest wrestlers ever, he countered EVERYTHING that Undertaker did, as if he had watched Undertakers matches and paid attention to all of his moves. You don’t see that kind of genius these days. Undertaker came out looking great too. I loved seeing his old ministry robe again, I hope he starts changing around his gimmick a little bit more and tweaking it, the whole “phenom” thing was getting a bit stale, and it was the same entrance, same attire, same moveset every time, so it was good to see him mix it up a bit here, and it worked great with Edge, too. We all knew his streak wasn’t ending so the ending wasn’t a surprise. I hope this title reign lasts a lot longer than last year’s though.

So Wrestlemania was great. There is no denying it. The show was filled with good matches, and managed to pull off the “big event” feel even with a lack of “big” matches.

And then RAW was wonderful as well. It was awesome seeing Matt Hardy attack Orton, as well as see Cryme Tyme return which was one of my favorite tag teams. Also it looks as if Londrick are getting a push again, which isn’t at all a bad thing. And then the ending…The ending was definitely an emotional moment. It was crazy. I even had to hold back tears, and it’s very hard to make me cry. Ric Flair had such an amazing career, and one of the longest ever. It’s definitely sad to see him go, and it was so emotional seeing the whole roster out there yelling “Thank you Ric!” as well as seeing him in the ring with the old Four Horsemen and the likes of Harley Race, Greg Valentine, and Ricky Steamboat. I may be young but I still have a lot of respect for all of these guys, and a lot of respect for Ric Flair himself for all he’s done for the business. It just wouldn’t be the same if we never had him.

…and that’s all I got to say this week.
